Nokia has taken the wraps off its highly anticipated Nokia N8 mobile phone.
The N8 is the first mobile phone from Nokia to feature a 12Mp camera. Nokia describes it as having a ‘large sensor that rivals those found in compact cameras’.

The N8 is able to capture HD video at 720p resolution. Nokia also claims that the N8 is suitable for using to watch web-based TV. It offers services from CNN, Paramount and National Geographic, with additional UK-focused TV content available through the Nokia Ovi Store – Nokia’s equivalent to the iPhone’s App Store.
The Nokia N8 features a 3.5-inch touchscreen, which supports multi-touch, pinch-to-zoom and flick scrolling functionality. The mobile phone has 16GB of internal memory, which can be supplemented with the use of a MicroSD memory card up to 32GB.
The N8 has an FM radio, which can be listened to through any pair of headphones or speakers with a 3.5mm audio connection.
The Nokia N8 has 3G and wi-fi internet connectivity, and provides GPS and a digital compass to aid navigation. It runs the Symbian^3 operating system.
Which? will be lab-testing the Nokia N8 as soon as it launches in the third quarter of 2010. Nokia says that the Nokia N8 will cost around €370 but UK pricing is yet to be confirmed.
