Dell has announced new 15-inch and 17-inch Inspiron laptops in its Inspiron R range, which feature Intel Core i3 or i5 processors and are aimed at students and families.
Dell says that the new Inspiron R laptops have been designed to make it easier to access personal files and securely share photos and videos wirelessly. Dell describes the new laptops as being the ideal mobile personal entertainment hub, offering smooth video playback, surround sound and a built-in webcam.
Specs for both the Dell Inspiron 15R and the 17R laptops, which both run Windows 7, include the Intel Core i3 and i5 mobile processors, 15 or 17-inch HD screens and up to 8GB Ram with up to 640GB hard drives.
The Inspiron R laptops have built-in memory card readers, webcams and wi-fi, and feature SRS Premium Sound for what Dell describes as an excellent stereo surround soundstage

The Inspiron R laptops have curved bodies, wedge-shaped profiles and are available in four colours – obsidian black, peacock blue, tomato red and lotus pink. According to Dell the Inspiron R laptops feature a smudge-resistant palm rest, a full-size, comfortable keyboard, and a stiffer frame for a solid, quality feel.

Dell Inspiron is a ‘sexy, practical’ laptop
Dell’s Inspiron R range also adds specific Dell features to the standard Windows 7 interface. These include the Dell Dock, which Dell claims reduces time searching for applications and files, as photos, videos and the most commonly used apps are all placed at the top of the screen.
Glen Robson, vice president, product marketing at Dell says: ‘The Inspiron R takes the rock solid Inspiron line and amps up the cool factor with a sexy and practical machine for entertainment, and social networking along with all the usual home, school and work functions. Photos, videos and personal files can also be securely stored and shared with DataSafeOnline for peace of mind right out of the box.’
Dell Inspiron R laptops are available to buy from Thursday 24 June online from Dell.co.uk, with prices starting at £479 including VAT and delivery.
