New kitchen appliances from Gordon RamsayChef launches 'Cooks by Gordon Ramsay' range
22 June 2010
The 'Cooks by Gordon Ramsay' range contains 11 products for preparing and cooking food, including an innovative double-pot slow cooker.
There are five food preparation products in the Cooks by Gordon Ramsay family; a hand blender, glass jug blender, food mixer, food processor and a mini chopper. To find out more about watch our video.
We’ve tested products in the Gordon Ramsay Professional range before including a food processor, jug blender, and stick blender. So far one of the Gordon Ramsay products we’ve tested has made it as a Best Buy but the other two have failed to excel in our tests.
The most expensive product in the Cooks by Gordon Ramsay range is the food mixer, which costs £140. At just £20 the mini chopper is the cheapest product in the range. Our cheapest Best Buy mini chopper is just £19, to find out more about it read our full food processor review.
Cooks by Gordon Ramsay cooking range
Up until now the only cooking products we’ve seen from Gordon Ramsay are the Professional Health Grill and Griddle and a mini oven. The Cooks by Gordon Ramsay range now adds a further six products to the chef's collection of cooking appliances.
The new cooking products are: a Searing Grill, Searing Griddle, Digital Slow Cooker, Party Slow Cooker, Professional Waffle Maker, and a Panini Press.
The Searing Grill and Searing Griddle are both table-top health grills. As well as grilling food the Searing Grill has an additional ‘burst’ feature that raises the temperature to 260˚C for 90 seconds.
This feature is designed to seal in meat juices, and caramelise food on the outside for added flavour. The Searing Grill will cost £60 and the Searing Griddle £50.
Check out our advice on buying a health grill to see how to buy one.
Gordon Ramsay Party Slow Cooker
One of the most innovative products in the range is the Party Slow Cooker. Costing £70, it features two separate bowls so that you can cook two dishes simultaneously.
This device should help simplify after-work dinner parties – allowing you to come home to both a starter and a main dish that are ready to serve.
If you’ve never used a slow cooker before read our slow cooker FAQs to find out how they work and the kind or dishes you can use them for.
Which? view on Gordon Ramsay range
Which? kitchen gadget expert Lisa Galliers said: ‘In the past Gordon Ramsay kitchen appliances have looked stylish but have really varied in terms of their performance in our tests. The Party Slow Cooker looks like a really interesting concept, but unless it has a separate timer for each pot, you'd have to think up two dishes with the same cooking time. We look forward to checking it out.'
All products will be available in the new Argos catalogue which is out on 24 July.
