Nine in 10 regularly use online shopping vouchersA survey finds 90% of adults use online discounts

Sites such as Myvouchercodes
.co.uk offer discount voucher codes for shopping online
Online voucher codes and discount vouchers are used by nine in 10 adults, according to a new survey
The research was conducted for bestvaluefares.co.uk, a website set up by the Association of Train Operating Companies to promote cheap rail fares and two-for-one offers.
Internet research company Hitwise reported in August 2009 that UK searches for discount vouchers had increased by 47% in the previous year and Vouchercodes.co.uk's traffic growing by 100% in the last year. However, HotUKDeals is the only site to make it into Hitwise's most recent top 20 shopping sites.
Discount vouchers
Which?'s guide to ways to save when eating out includes where to find the best discount vouchers for restaurants.
Our guide to discount vouchers includes a range of tips and independent research into voucher code sites and an analysis of voucher sites by type of shopping - for CDs and DVDs, electrical goods and clothing.
Despite finding some good voucher deals, our voucher codes research in February 2009 found that:
- many prices were lower on price comparison sites than they were on five top discount voucher sites
- many codes are not up to date and don't work
- there are bargains available on some items, such as clothes.
