Virgin Media customers with HD (high definition) boxes and HD-ready TVs, will now be able to watch Five HD on channel 150, taking the number of HD channels available on Virgin to 13.
Virgin Media says that Five HD will be available to it’s 3.7 million TV subscribers for no extra cost. There will also be a further 20 HD channels, including Sky sports and Movies, available from the provider later this summer.

HD TV channels on Five
Five HD will broadcast shows in HD including Neighbours, Home & Away, Gray’s Anatomy and Law & Order. Cindy Rose, director of digital entertainment at Virgin Media, describes it as being ‘a really innovative HD schedule’.
Earlier this year, Ofcom announced that Five’s HD channel would not be arriving on Freeview until at least 2012.

HD TV options
To watch high definition television you’ll need a HD-ready TV and HD TV broadcasts to watch. HD TV is available via Sky or Virgin subscription services or for a one-off equipment fee from Freeview HD or Freesat.
