Samsung unveils the 2View ST600 and ST100, the latest additions to its dual LCD screen digital camera range.
The new 14 megapixel (Mp) flagship models feature a 1.8″ LCD screen on the front of the camera, larger than the 1.5″ screen found on previous cameras in the range. Samsung says the increase in size makes it easier for users to frame themselves in their photos and be part of the action by stepping out from behind the camera.
The models will be available in stores soon, according to Samsung, at a price of £299.99.

Samsung 2View dual screen technology
All models in Samsung’s 2View range feature a front LCD screen as well as the main LCD display on the back of the camera. The screen can be activated with a tap and allows users to take portraits using the front image as a guide.

Samsung Digital Imaging General Manager, Stephen Mitchell says: ‘Unlike any other feature found on digital cameras, consumers immediately recognise the value of what our LCD technology can do for them. There is no learning curve or technical understanding that must be achieved as it is a natural extension of what our customers are already doing’.

Samsung ST600 and ST100
The ST600 comes with a 5x optical zoom that starts from a wide angle of 27mm, while the ST100 is the first Samsung 2View camera to feature an internal 5x optical zoom.
The 2View cameras use Samsung’s Smart Gesture User Interface, which Samsung says allows users to scroll through photos by slightly tilting the device in either direction or swiping their finger across the screen.
Both models have Samsung’s Smart Auto scene recognition technology which claims to analyse key elements of the image, such as colour and brightness, and select the mode which will produce the best results. There’s also a ‘self-portrait’ mode and a ‘couples’ mode, which automatically takes a picture when it detects two faces tilted towards each other.
The Samsung 2View ST600 and ST100 are available in a pink, gold, black or purple metallic finish.
