The latest 3D TV reviews and results from the Which? test lab reveal a huge gap between the best 3D picture experience and the worst. While a Panasonic 3D TV tops the bill, one famous TV brand proved a disaster in our tests. Which 3D TV was a terrible 3D performer?
Which? pitched 3D TVs from Samsung, Panasonic, LG and Philips against each other in front of an expert viewing panel. The Panasonic Viera TX-P42GT20 delivered the best 3D TV picture, just shy of the previous best performance of Panasonic’s own pricier VT20 series.
Which 3D TV is the best?
Gulf in 3D quality
Which? researcher Michael Briggs said: ‘Despite a three grand price tag the 3D picture on one model is truly awful, the glasses are uncomfortable to wear and the supplied software upgrade kit didn’t work properly. It may be called ‘3D ready’ but we had to buy the 3D glasses and wireless transmitter separately.’
Briggs add: ‘Price is no guarantee of quality, so make sure you read our reviews and shop around if you’re in the market for a 3D TV.’
To see how all these TVs performed in our regular 2D viewing tests, audio assessments, usability and power efficiency tests check our LCD, LED and plasma TV reviews page. New results are added every month.
