06 December 2010
Land Rover has added a new model to the range, a Freelander 2 SD4 Sport Limited Edition.
Featuring the new 187bhp diesel engine, the Freelander 2 SD4 Sport will fit into the top end of the Freelander range price bracket.
Freelander 2 SD4 Sport: In-your-face colour and styling
The latest Sport limited edition of the Land Rover Freelander 2 uses the new 187bhp 2.0-litre turbodiesel engine, and comes in a bright new shade.
As with the last Sport edition Freelander, this new version comes complete with an aggressive visual makeover – new styling pack, rear spoiler and 19-inch alloys. However, the previous choice of Santorini Black or Fuji White exterior paint is this time supplemented by the new shade of Firenze Red.
On the inside, there's the additional option of an ‘ebony and pimento’ interior trim package, alongside the staider ‘ebony and ivory’ alternative. Leather, carpet mats and stripes give the Freelander a sportier, more upmarket feel..
Standard kit includes front and rear parking sensors.
0-62mph in less than nine seconds
The 2.0-litre turbodiesel engine in the Land Rover Freelander 2 SD4 Sport Limited Edition emits 185g/km CO2, but achieves 0-62mph in just 8.7 seconds, plus a top speed of 118mph. A six-speed automatic gearbox is optional, a six-speed manual standard.
Just 500 Land Rover Freelander 2 Sport Limited Editions of this kind will be available. At a price of £33,995, they slot into the existing line-up just below the range-topping HSE. The latest Freelander will go sale early 2011.
