Recaro reveals ‘futuristic’ Babyzen pushchair A light, compact travel system with safety lights
13 January 2011
The Babyzen pushchair is ‘quite simply the ultimate stroller’ according to manufacturer Recaro – but how will it stand up in tough Which? tests?
Recaro claims that the Babyzen’s ergonomic and easy-to-use design means it can be adjusted easily to suit your baby’s needs.
It says the ‘patented single-hand folding mechanism’ means it can be easily folded in a few seconds and the ‘patented blocking system’ helps manoeuvrability by automatically locking the front wheels when you travel oven very uneven surfaces.
Which? pushchairs expert Lisa Galliers says: ‘We can’t wait to get our hands on this pushchair to see if it really is as easy to use as Recaro claims. It will also be interesting to see how useful the automatically locking front wheels really are.’
Fits in any boot
According to Recaro, the three-wheeled Babyzen pushchair is ultra-light and extremely compact and will ‘fit in the boot of just about any car you can think of’ – including a Fiat 500 and a Mini.
The pushchair also comes with safety lights – to ensure you are visible to traffic - which are operated from the handle.
Lisa adds: ‘This isn’t the first pushchair we’ve seen with safety lights – they also feature on the – which we recently tested in the lab (Which? members can log in to see the pushchair lights in action in our ). However, lights are still a relatively novel addition to pushchairs and could be useful if you intend to use your pushchair after dark.’
Car seat compatible
You can convert the Babyzen stroller into a travel system, with the – which we’ve tested in the Which? lab. See how well it fared in our crash tests by checking out our child car seat reviews.
The Babyzen pushchair will be available for £575 on its own, £690 with the Profi Plus car seat or £899 with the car seat and Recaro carrycot.
