King of Shaves has launched the new Azor 5 Sensitive razor, the latest addition to its innovative range of Azor shaving systems.
It comes with five blades, which is one more than you’ll find on the rest of the Azor range, and this allows it to go head-to-head with the recently-launched Gillette Fusion range and the Wilkinson Sword Hydro 5.
Azor 5 Sensitive
Like other Azors, the Azor 5 Sensitive has a different look and feel to other razors on the market.
It comes with a long, thin handle which takes a little getting used to. And rather than using the now almost universal swivel-head, the blade cartridge is mounted on rubber which bends as you shave. King of Shaves also tells us that the Azor 5 comes with thinner blades than earlier Azor incarnations.
Find our whether you’ll feel the difference of these features by watching our First Look video review of the King of Shaves Azor 5 Sensitive razor. We’ve also posted First Look reviews of the rival five-blade Gillette Fusion ProGlide Power razor and Wilkinson Sword Hydro 5.
Which? expert view
Which? shaving expert Matt Stevens says: ‘King of Shaves take an innovative approach to razor design and the Azor 5, and the other Azors, certainly don’t look like other razors. And the way the blade attaches to the handle is interesting too. Using Azors takes a bit of getting used to, both in the way the handle feels in your hand and the way the blade cartridge bends, rather than pivots, against your face.
‘But the original Azor was popular in our last test of men’s razors. When we next send razors to the Which? test lab for testing, we’ll see how the Azor 5 Sensitive performs.’
Cheap Azor blades
The Azor 5 Sensitive and handle is £6.99 and comes with two blade cartridges. Replacement blades are available in packs of six for £6.99 – this works out as around £1.17 per blade, which is very cheap for a shaving system. The Azor 5 Sensitive and replacement blades are available from Asda, Boots, Tesco and Waitrose.
