At Panasonic’s European conference in London, details were given of the DT30 series, which marks the first LED 3D model from the manufacturer.
The DT30 range will be available in 32-inch and 37-inch screen sizes, includes the Viera Connect feature and is Wi Fi ready.
Viera Connect replaces the Viera Cast system for 2011. Connect is the name given to Panasonic’s internet functions, and the focus of the conference was very much on apps.
The DT30 will give users the option to download apps from a dedicated app store, to be launched in May. These range from free apps, such as Facebook and Twitter, to paid for content including games and lifestyle services.
The DT30 is wireless compatible, but does require the purchase of an additional wi-fi dongle.

New screen technology
The DT30 series incorporates Panasonic’s new IPS Alpha panels with 400Hz back light scanning and improved motion response.
The manufacturer claims that these new screens have eliminated crosstalk, and are capable of providing a large viewing angle with little picture degradation.
The DT30 series is expected to be available in stores from May, although Panasonic has not yet revealed a price.
