Zanussi is to add a new induction hob and an electric built-in oven with pyrolytic self-cleaning to its range of cooking appliances.
The Zanussi ZIE6004F induction hob will sell for around £400, making it cheaper than most. And the Zanussi ZYB460X built-in pyrolytic oven will also be close to the £400 mark.
The induction hob comes with four cooking zones, nine power settings and touch sensitive controls. It will have an easy-to-clean ceramic glass hob surface and a residual heat indicator, which will alert you to any parts of the surface that are hot after cooking.
Pyrolytic ovens are self cleaning. This one from Zanussi is fully programmable and can be set to incinerate oven waste, leaving just ash in the bottom which can then be swept away.
Which? cookers expert Matt Stevens says: ‘Cooking with induction has many benefits – energy use is low, cooking is fast and they’re easy to keep clean, as spills won’t burn on. And pyrolytic ovens make cleaning the oven easy.
‘High prices stop many consumers from taking advantage of advances in cooking appliance technology like these, so seeing pyrolytic ovens and induction hobs just about breaking the £400 barrier is encouraging. When we next test induction hobs and ovens, we’ll see how the new Zanussi appliances perform in our tests.’
