Samsung steam oven

A divider splits the oven into two cooking spaces

Samsung has added the ability to cook with steam to its original BQ1S6T077 Dual Cook oven, which comes with a divider enabling users to use the oven as a single or double oven.

The new Samsung Dual Cook steam oven can be used as a single 65 litre capacity oven or as a double oven comprising a 32 litre lower section and a 30 litre upper section if a divider is added. Samsung tells us that the divider seals the ovens, making it possible to cook two dishes at different temperatures at the same time.

The new feature showcased on the latest incarnation of the Dual Cook is steam cooking, made possible by a 1 litre water tank.

Which? ovens expert Matt Stevens says: 'Space-saving kitchen appliances and products that do two jobs in one are becoming increasingly popular. But when the divider is added to the Samsung, the two oven spaces created are both on the small side.

'Because of this, I wonder how many owners of Samsung Dual Cook ovens make use of the divider? As a single oven, the Samsung has a large capacity and you'll be able to fit almost anything inside, including a big Christmas turkey. But by cutting this in half, you're left with two very small ovens.

'But the original Samsung BQ1S6T077 Dual Cook impressed in our tests and the addition of steam makes the new Samsung stand out. We’ll be interested to see how the new steam version does when we send it to the Which? test lab.'

We've tested around 100 single, double, compact gas and electric built-in and built-under ovens. You can read our review of the original Samsung Dual Cook and nearly 100 other ovens in our ovens review.
