Apple has starting shipping UK online orders of the iPad 2, ahead of original estimates.
Most iPad 2 online orders have listed estimated delivery dates for the iPad 2 of around April 25. However, the first iPad 2 shipments to customers who ordered online began this weekend. An online order placed by Which? was shipped on Saturday, April 9 and is due to be delivered on April 11 (today), though Apple notes this date is ‘subject to change’.
It is unknown exactly how many iPad 2s Apple has begun shipping to its online customers. But, with demand high, it seems unlikely all orders will be fulfilled in the very near future. Moreover, while iPad 2s have begun shipping, orders for the dock accessory, Smart Covers and Sim cards have not.

iPad 2 in short supply
Apple’s iPad 2 has been in short supply since its launch. Stock at its flagship stores in London sold out on launch day, and other stockists experienced similar shortages. Apple has yet to announce sales figures for the iPad 2 launch, however sales of the original iPad reached 15 million earlier this year.
