Which? and the Independent Commission on Banking (ICB) announced today that they will host a consultation with consumers on banking reform on 24 May 2011.
The event, ‘Which? – Your Voice for Better Banking’, will be an opportunity to consult consumers on the ICB’s recommendations for reform.
The ICB have produced an interim report on their recommendations so far ahead of their full report, due to be submitted to the UK government in September 2011.
Discussions will involve improving competition, easing the process of switching bank accounts and the potential of separating retail banks from their investment arms.
Over the years Which? has worked to get consumers more involved in the decisions made on banking reform and identify how proposed changes will affect consumers’ lives. You can see the progress we’ve made so far via our interactive timeline.
