Home appliance giant Electrolux to raise prices

Electrolux fridges and vacs to cost more from October

Customers will have to pay more for Electrolux products – including fridges, vacuum cleaners, ovens and washing machines – after the appliance giant announced impending price rises this week.

Electrolux said it would be implementing price rises of 5-7% from 1 October, due to the increased costs of raw materials and transportation.

Which? refrigeration expert Carole Shepherdson said: ‘It’s getting increasingly difficult to find good-value appliances. But remember, it’s not just about the price you pay – you should also factor in how much an appliance costs to run per year.

‘Some small fridges, for example, cost just £12 per year to run – while a large American fridge-freezer like the can cost up to £92 per year to run – that’s £460 over 5 years of use.’
