Nespresso capsules can now be recycled

Nespresso coffee capsules can now be recycled thanks to a new service offered by coffee machine manufacturer Nespresso.

Nespresso coffee lovers in some areas of the country can now recycle their capsules using its new used-capsule 'collection on delivery' service.

The service is available to Nespresso Club members, who can order a recycling bag in which to store used Nespresso capsules. Once the bag is full, arrangements can be made for it to be collected when placing a new order for capsules. To join the Nespresso Club, visit

Which? coffee machines expert Lisa Galliers says: 'This is a great step forward as we know Nespresso machines are very popular, but many owners are concerned about the extra waste caused by the used capsules.

'Some capsules can't be recycled because they're made from more than one type of material, so it's good to see that at least some capsules will now be collected and recycled.'
