Our latest tests of compact digital cameras include the Canon PowerShot A1200, one of the first affordable Canon compact cameras with a viewfinder in nearly two years.
Its optical viewfinder is joined by a 2.7-inch LCD screen, a 4x optical zoom and an HD movie mode, all for under £100.
Given that viewfinders on compacts have been as rare as hen’s teeth in recent times, we eagerly rushed this model to our labs for a full lab test. See how it fared.

If you’re planning to go to the beach this summer, you may be interested in the results of two waterproof cameras on test, the Olympus Tough TG-810 and the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-TX10.The Olympus is waterproof up to 10 metres, the Sony just 5 metres; but the Sony has Full HD video recording, something the Olympus lacks.
The smallest camera on test, and one of the smallest we’ve ever tested, is the Kodak EasyShare Mini M200. At just 99 grams, it’s lighter than many mobile phones.
