To help you get set for travelling or holidays with little ones this summer, we’ve been on the hunt for lightweight, portable baby product bargains.
Packing the right baby equipment for while you’re away from home with your baby or toddler is essential if you want to keep your time away as hassle-free as possible.
Our guide to travelling with children has advice on the products you’ll need on holiday, and the ones you might be able to hire or borrow instead. We’ve also found these deals to help keep costs down.
Baby discounts and freebies
- Enter discount code NLVU at Mothercare’s online checkout for an extra 15% off selected purchases until 12 August.
- If you’re spending £150 or more at Kiddisave, use the discount code tenpounds at the online checkout for a £10 discount.
- At Bambino Direct, you can claim a free set of car sun blinds when buying an item – just add SUNBLIND into the code box at the checkout.
- You can get £10 off orders over £150 at Kiddicare – enter discount code kiddi10 at the online checkout.
Maclaren is well known for its lightweight and portable buggies and the 5kg Maclaren Triumph or 5kg Maclaren Volo are among the lightest pushchairs we’ve tested here at Which? – making them good options for taking on holiday.
The Triumph is less than £100 Mothercare this week in certain colours, while you can get your hands on the Maclaren Volo for £76.50 (almost £10 off the RRP) at John Lewis and Kiddisave.
Travel cot sale
If you’re planning on staying at a hotel, many will provide families with a cot, or arrange hiring one for you. If you’re regularly away from home, however, a fold-up travel cot can be a good investment. We spotted travel cots starting from £30 in the Kiddicare sale.
Shades and blackout blinds
The portable Gro Anywhere blackout blind creates a ‘snoozy sleeping environment’ wherever you need one, adjusting to fit any window up to 200x135cm. You can read our parent tester’s first impressions in our blackout nursery blinds review.
It’s usually priced for around £30 – but we’ve found it at Amazon for £18.40, with free Super Saver delivery.
Cheap baby carriers and slings
With both hands free and no pram or pushchair needed, a sling or baby carrier makes transporting your baby much easier while giving you freedom while you’re out and about.
We spotted the original Babybjorn baby carrier down £15 to £50 at both Amazon and Kiddisave, while BabaSlings in various colours are for sale for under £37 at Kiddicare.
Nappies and swim nappies
If you need to restrict your luggage, it’s worth buying nappies once you’re at your destination – but if that’s not possible, or if you’re travelling by car, it might be useful to take a full supply of nappies with you.
Here are few offers we spotted. Kiddicare has 50% off jumbo packs of Just4Bums disposable nappies, down from £50 to £24.99. At Asda, Huggies Disney Super Dry nappies are down from £21 to £11, while at Boots there’s a two for £9 offer on Huggies Swimmers nappies.
Reusable swim nappies can work out more economical. Single pairs start at £2.99 at Babies R Us – from three months upwards.
