After a short court injunction which barred the sale and marketing of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 in the UK and elsewhere, we can now reveal the full test results.
The temporary injunction against the Samsung tablet was prompted initially after a complaint from Apple, makers of the iPad. Apple claimed that the design of the new tablet closely resembled that of the iPad, and that Samsung’s tablet infringed its intellectual property.
Earlier this week, we announced that the injunction had been lifted. Now the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is free to compete with the Apple iPad 2.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 key features
The Galaxy Tab 10.1 runs on Android 3.1 – the latest Android operating system for tablets. It also uses the Touchwiz interface which adds some extra features and shortcuts.
1GB of RAM and a speedy dual-core Nvidia processor help keep things running smoothly, whilst a custom connector allows you to connect peripherals.
A range of variants is available, starting at £399 for the 16GB wi-fi only version. The most expensive is the 64GB with wi-fi and 3G, costing £659. Prices match the Apple iPad 2.

There has been a number of cheap tablets appear on the market lately. At around £100, these provide a tempting bargain basement alternative to the likes of the Apple iPad 2 and Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. These tablets go through the same testing procedures as more expensive ones.
In this batch of testing, we have results for the Arnova 8 and the Binatone HomeSurf 705. Both tablets are available at Asda.
