With a month to go until Christmas, the festive shopping season is well underway. And with it, plenty of pre-Christmas toy sales and offers – meaning you needn’t spend a fortune on kids’ stocking fillers this Christmas.
We’ve been taking a look at where savvy shoppers can bag bargains on kids’ Christmas presents. Happy shopping…
Update, 30 November: Amazon’s Black Friday flash sales may have ended last week, but the bargains continue on Amazon as part of its ’12 days of Christmas’ sale. There’s up to 40% off some toys and games. Current deals include jigsaw puzzles under £10, a Hotwheels playset with a third off, various discounted board games and £20 off a Hasbro FurReal puppy.
Plus LeapFrog is continuing to run its up to 25% off promotion for baby toys, and up to 20% off for older kids.
Argos is currently running an ‘up to half price’ toy sale until 6 December. It says more than 1,000 toy lines have been reduced in price, but only around 120 items have 50% off. Those include a Peppa Pig cuddly toy for £14.99, a Star Wars figure set for £25 and £8.49 for a Crayola princess ‘story studio’ colouring set.
Some selected board games, chess and Lego sets are included in a ‘two for £15’ toy offer.
Update, 30 November: Argos is also currently offering a free £5 voucher when you spend £50 or more, or a £10 voucher when you spend £100 or more. Enter code ‘WFD’ on the payment page to get your voucher to spend on a future purchase (valid 30 November – 20 January), or reserve it online to collect in a store.
Boots’ Mix and Match ‘three for two’ deals extend to toys as well as beauty and toiletry sets. We counted around 200 toys available in the deal for under £10 – including Early Learning Centre, VTech and LeapFrog toys – which might make good stocking fillers.
When you shop at Boots you can also collect or spend Advantage Card points.
Early Learning Centre
Update, 30 November: The Early Learning Centre (ELC) website’s ‘three for two’ offer on all toys has now ended, making way for a 50% off toy promotion on selected items (119 in total, though many were out of stock). Still in stock at time of writing were a Scalextric set, JCB trucks and craft kits.
Outside of special offers, ELC also offers a price match promise, where it will refund the difference if you find a product cheaper elsewhere within seven days of you buying it. Go into a store to claim your price match money back.
Mothercare is also running a ‘three for two’ deal on all toys available on its website, with a lot of the big toy brands covered – including Fisher-Price, Graco, Tomy and Playmobil.
Also keep an eye out for ‘up to 50% off’ on selected toys online.
Update, 30 November: Online electrical store Pixmania is offering 15% off selected toys while stocks last – including brands such as Playmobil, Lego, VTech and Barbie. Just enter discount code ‘TOY1’ at the checkout.
There are also toys on offer as part of its Crazy Christmas promotion.
If you’ve still got Tesco Clubcard vouchers to use up, you can exchange them for double the value when buying selected toys and bikes at Tesco, as part of its Christmas Clubcard Voucher Exchange event.
Every £5 turns into £10 of toy tokens to spend in Tesco. You’ll need to exchange your vouchers (either online or at a Tesco store) by 1 December, and spend the tokens on your chosen toys by 6 December.
Toys R Us
National Geographic, Tomy, Play-Doh and Sylvanian Families toys are included in a ‘buy two, get the third’ free deal at Toys R Us. We also spotted inflatable Air Swimmers – one of the toys featured in our – with £10 off.
