NFU Mutual, Hiscox and John Lewis Insurance have been rated as the best three home insurers by Which? members for customer service.
The three insurers retain a clear lead as top Which? Recommended Providers (WRP) for home insurance, receiving the highest customer scores from Which? members as well as scoring consistently well for their standard building and content insurance policies.
The best of the rest
Marks and Spencer Money, Liverpool Victoria, Ecclesiastical, RIAS also retain their status as WRPs with Insure4retirement becoming the latest provider to join the group.
Age UK and the Co-operative Insurance narrowly miss out on making it as a WRP, scoring just below average for their content and building policies respectively. However, they receive high customer scores, reflecting high level of customer satisfaction among Which? members.
To qualify as a WRP, insurers must have average or above customer scores and building and content policy scores. To see a break down of how other home insurance providers fair for customer service see our customer satisfaction table.
Proceed with caution
At the other end of the table there is little movement for Santander and Budget who again receive the lowest customer and overall scores.
Which? insurance expert Paul Davies says: ‘The companies that top our list of Which? Recommended Providers combine high levels of customer satisfaction and comprehensive polices that meet the needs of policyholders.
‘Price will always be a key consideration, but keep the list of WRPs next to you when you’re doing research on comparison sites. Opting for a Recommended Provider will invariably prove worthwhile if you have to make a claim.’
