18 February 2012
Sodastream has issued advice for dealing with a fault in the new Fizz drinks maker after a Which? first look review found problems with its digital display.
Which contacted Sodastream after taking a first look at its Fizz drinks maker and finding that the Fizz Chip - a digital display that should tell you how fizzy your water is and how much compressed gas remains in the cylinder - did not accurately record our fizzing activity.
Find out more about the problem and discover our first impressions of this drinks maker in our first look review of the Sodastream Fizz.
Battery fizzles out
In a statement made through its PR agency Sodastream said: 'We have recently been made aware of an issue, affecting a handful of Sodasteam Fizz machines, with the batteries that power the Fizz Chip technology. In these Fizz machines the battery drains very quickly. The issue does not affect the basic functionality of the machine and does not pose any safety risks.
'We have created a home repair kit that will be made available to any customers that might experience a problem with their Fizz Chip. Customers who believe their Fizz Chip is not working correctly are advised to call 0845 601 0093 and a replacement Fizz Chip will be immediately sent out to them.
'We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused to our customers.'
