Audi has released prices and specification for its 2012 TT RS Plus.
The fastest TT yet will cost £48,945 and is on sale in the UK now. However, deliveries don’t start until summer this year.
Audi TT RS Plus: fastest ever
The new TT RS Plus replaces the standard Audi TT RS as the quickest model in the 2+2 sportscar range.
The Plus is powered by the same 2.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine as the TT RS, but Audi has tuned the unit to provide more power.
Output now stands at 355bhp – 20bhp up on the TT RS – dropping the car’s 0-62mph time to 4.4 seconds, or 4.2 seconds if chosen with the paddle-shift automated manual gearbox.
Despite an increased power output, the new car’s claimed efficiency remains the same as the standard RS, at 33.2mpg with 209g/km CO2 emissions. That equates to £270 annual car tax (VED).
Technology Pack for RS Plus
The TT RS Plus sports a host of equipment upgrades over the standard TT RS, with Audi’s Technology Pack – including satellite navigation, Bluetooth and iPod connection – and a sports exhaust fitted as standard.
On the outside, the Plus gets19-inch alloy wheels and a new radiator grille and new door mirrors to distinguish it from the rest of the range.
Coupé and Roadster available
The TT RS Plus is available in either Coupé or Roadster guise, costing £48,945 and £50,925 respectively. Audi’s paddle-shift gearbox is a £1,340 option on both bodystyles.
