Samsung is set to announce the Galaxy S3 – its latest flagship smartphone – on Thursday May 3. We will keep you updated as information comes out.
We will be reporting live from the event on Thursday evening, but in the meantime we will be updating this page with information about the highly anticipated device.
What do we know now?
As one of the main competitors to the iPhone, the Samsung Galaxy S range has included some important and exciting devices. Samsung has already confirmed that the next version will include a quad-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz and it’s all but certain that it will run on the latest version of Android – 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

It’s too early to know for certain when the Galaxy S3 will be available in shops, but Samsung has recently made a lot of noises about not wanting to have a long time between announcements and launches. This suggests we may not have to wait too long to see the new device go on sale.
What are the rumours?
As with all high profile launches the S3 is getting a lot of attention from the rumour mill. Features such as inductive wireless charging and Bluetooth 4.0 are being thrown about, plus we would be very surprised if Samsung didn’t upgrade the camera to keep pace with rivals such as Apple and HTC.
