Audi has revealed pricing and specification details for its new A3 hatchback.
Priced from £19,205, the new Audi is on sale now, ahead of its September showroom debut.
Audi A3: Three-door only
The new A3 will initially be available in three-door guise only and in three specification levels: SE, Sport and S Line. A five-door variant will join the range later.
The entry-level SE trim costs £19,205 and gets 16-inch alloy wheels, air conditioning and Audi’s multimedia system, with Bluetooth fitted as standard. Upgrading to Sport trim costs £1,225 and adds 17-inch alloys, climate control and a system to toggle between Comfort, Dynamic and Efficiency driving modes.
The range-topping S Line model has larger wheels again, a sports bodykit and firmer suspension. It costs £22,580.
Audi A3: Three engine choices
Three engines will feature in the new A3 from launch, including 120bhp 1.4 and 178bhp 1.8 TFSI turbocharged petrol engines. The latter is the quickest in the range, completing the 0-62mph dash in 7.2 seconds. A 148bhp 2.0-litre turbodiesel is also offered.
The trio of engines have been developed to improve fuel economy by as much as 12% over the units they replace, according to Audi. However, no official efficiency figures have yet been released for the new A3.
All engines will be available across the range, except for the 1.8 turbocharged petrol, which will not feature in SE spec. More engine choices are likely to join the initial line-up, including a 1.6 turbodiesel and a more powerful 2.0 TDI diesel, as well as a 2.0-litre petrol turbo.
Audi’s sportier S and RS models will almost certainly be added to the range later.
