The top mattress brands and the best shops for buying mattresses can be revealed by Which?, after our largest ever survey on mattress satisfaction.
Nearly 8,000 Which? members helped produce customer scores for 19 mattress brands – including Tempur, Dreams and Ikea – and 11 mattress retailers, including Silentnight and Bensons for Beds.
Best shops for buying mattresses
There were plenty of differences in how brands scored on the survey, with the top-rated brand scoring 85% and the bottom-rated brand getting only 58%.

Which? mattress expert Matt Clear said: ‘The brands at the top of the table tend to be more expensive, but there are a couple of brands that got good customer scores and were also rated highly on value for money.’

Quality of mattress-buying advice
The survey showed a lot of differences in the quality of advice given. The top two shops got five-star ratings for their advice, while two shops lower down the table received disappointing two-star ratings.
