Kia launches range-topping SportageNew 2012 Kia Sportage KX-4 priced from £27,195
04 July 2012
Kia has launched a new top-spec version of its Sportage 4x4. The KX-4 is on sale now, priced from £27,195.
KX-4 equipment levels
The KX-4 Sportage replaces the £25,935 KX-3 model as the best-equipped and most expensive trim level on sale.
It boasts plenty of standard equipment, including satellite navigation, a parking assist system – with front and rear parking sensors and a colour reversing camera – full leather upholstery and cruise control.
New 2.0 turbodiesel engine
The new Sportage has a revised version of the Korean firm’s 2.0-litre turbodiesel engine. The new 181bhp unit is only available in the KX-4, and will sprint from 0-62mph in 9.4 seconds.
Compared to the less powerful 134bhp engine in the rest of the range, efficiency is still good. At a claimed 46.3mpg with 158g/km CO2 emissions – equating to £170 car tax (VED) – the new motor only loses 0.8mpg and 2g/km CO2 to the less powerful turbodiesel.
Unlike other Sportage variants, the KX-4 is only available with Kia’s switchable four-wheel-drive system. Both six-speed manual and automatic gearboxes are available.
