As money becomes tighter at home, four in ten parents are choosing to make home cooked food for their babies and toddlers, according to new research by Mintel.
Although the baby food market has seen a 51% increase in value in the last five years, reaching £611 million in 2012, it has reduced by almost two thirds in 2011.

Buying baby food
When buying pre-packaged baby food, only 36% of parents say they read the full list of ingredients, with many having trust in the big name brands. Conversely, only 38% of parents trust baby food labelled as organic.
