Scottish Power free insulation could save you £310Insulate your home to cut your energy bills
26 September 2012
Scottish Power is offering households free loft insulation and free cavity wall insulation, which it says could save you up to £310.
You do not need to be a Scottish Power customer to apply, but your home must be in mainland Great Britain and must have a loft where the insulation is less than 60mm thick.
But if you want to take advantage of the offer you need to hurry - it only runs until this Sunday, 30 September, and insulation must be fitted by 30 November.
Free loft insulation deals
Scottish Power isn't the only energy firm offering free insulation - we have a guide to energy grants and other free insulation deals that you may be able to qualify for.
Insulating your home can save you money by keeping the heat in your house in winter and keeping it out in the summer.
Cavity wall insulation: things to consider
Although free cavity wall insulation is a good deal, homes in parts of the UK may have problems with it due to the prevailing winds and rains.
Our guide to cavity wall insulation can help you to decide if it's the right choice for your home and give you more information on what exactly it is.
Scottish Power grants and discounts
In addition to offering free insulation, Scottish Power has said that it is putting in place schemes to help its vulnerable customers, and has vowed not to disconnect anyone between November and February.
Some pensioners and those on certain benefits may be eligible for schemes such as the Warm Home discount, which offers rebates of up to £130.
To find out more about the free insulation deal and apply, call Scottish Power on 0845 601 7836, Monday to Friday, 9am-5.30pm.
