Which? urges people to check that their boiler engineer is Gas Safe Registered ahead of Gas Safety Week and the Which? boilers live Q&A session.
Which? executive director Richard Lloyd said: ‘Botched boiler installations cost consumers money and, at the very worst, kill, so people should always find out if their gas fitter is Gas Safe Registered.’
Gas Safety Week takes place from 10-16 September and aims to raise awareness of the importance of gas safety. During this week, Which? is offering free advice to its members with a boilers live Q&A on Tuesday 11 September, from 12-2pm.

Gas Safe registered boiler engineers
If you’re having a boiler fitted or worked on, you shouldn’t be afraid to ask your engineer if they are listed on the Gas Safe Register, as this is the official list of gas engineers who are registered to work safely and legally on boilers, cookers, fires and other gas appliances.
Which? executive director Richard Lloyd said: ‘Any properly qualified engineer won’t mind you checking out their registration card or calling to check.
