Customers save nearly £3m with Which? SwitchThousands benefit from changing energy supplier

Which?’s energy comparison service, Which? Switch, has saved UK consumers £2.95m in total on their energy bills over the past year.

Between November 2011 and October 2012 a total of 16,556 customers used the service to find a better deal on their gas and electricity bills.

Which? Switch is impartial, independent and not-for-profit. We gather all the available tariffs, taking into consideration hidden charges and exit fees, and compare the cheapest ones to suit your circumstances. You can also get answers to all your switching questions.

Energy price rises

Energy prices are on the rise, with five of the big six providers – SSE, Npower, British Gas, Scottish Power and EDF – all announcing price hikes of between 6%-11% over the past few months.

As well as the website, you can now call Which? Switch on 01992 822 827 (Monday-Friday, 9am-6pm) to find out how much you could save by switching . Both the website and the phone line are completely free to use for members and non-members alike.

Which? Affordable Energy Campaign

Which? is campaigning to make switching energy suppliers and comparing tariffs easier for everyone. We want a better deal for energy consumers, including:

  • Tariffs that are a simple standard format across all suppliers, enabling customer to easily compare and see the cheapest deal.
  • An end to complex tiered pricing of tariffs which unfairly penalises people who use less energy.
