Crash testing car seats

Which? has new Best Buy child car seats to recommend for children of all ages after latest round of crash tests.

Three of the new child car seats we tested qualified as Which? Best Buys, after our unique tests found they provide very good protection in a crash and are easy to install.

To find out which car seats we recommend visit our child car seat Best Buys.

Protecting children of all ages

No matter how old your child is, we have found a selection of Best Buys to choose from. This is especially important because not all child car seats fit in all cars, so you'll need to find the seat that suits your car and offers excellent protection.

We've added 10 new seats to the list of more than 100 child car seats that we've previously tested. Each has been through our front and side crash impact tests and been assessed for how easy it is to use and install by installation experts and ordinary mums and dads alike.

The new car seats we've tested are:

Group 0+ (from birth to 13kg)

  • Bebecar Easimaxi EL
  • Cybex Aton 2 (with and without base)
  • Graco Junior Baby (with and without base)
  • (no base)

Group 1 (from 9-18kg)

  • Britax Duo Plus Isofix
  • Chicco Xpace
  • Maxi Cosi Priori XP

Group 1/2/3 (from 9-36kg)
