Which? reveals the most popular brands of 2012 for home and garden products – did Dyson, Bosch or Beko come out on top?
Bosch was the most popular household brand on which.co.uk in 2012, based on the number of times you visited pages about its products.
It saw off tough competition from Dyson, Beko, Vax and Phillips to be crowned the brand that attracted the most attention from online readers.
Here is the full top 10:
Bosch is most popular brand
The German manufacturer has dominated visits to Which? Home and Garden, thanks largely to Bosch making a range of household appliances: from coffee machines, dishwashers, ovens and irons, to fridge-freezers and lawn mowers.
Although Bosch pages were visited nearly three times as much as Dyson pages, Dyson is restricted largely to vacuum cleaners, with a few exceptions including the Dyson Hot and Dyson Air Multiplier fan.
Dyson is hottest specialist brand
Dyson is the top specialist brand, with the DC35 multi-floor handheld vacuum cleaner its most visited product.
Bosch’s top product by visits is the washing machine, but it was Beko whose washing machines you were most interested in overall.
Cutting through the hype
The top 10 brands by visits vary from specialist brands, such as Dyson (vacuum cleaners) and Worcester (boilers), to Bosch, Beko, Phillips and Hotpoint, which make a range of appliances for your home.
However, while these were the most visited brands, did their products come out as Best Buys in our tough tests? We cut through the hype and ‘brand image’ when testing to find out what’s important – whether the product does the job it’s meant to.
