Apple’s iPad and iPad Mini have topped our latest tablet battery life tests, claiming top spot for 10-inch and 7-inch tablets and beating rivals from Microsoft, Google and Sony.
Our latest tests found that the latest iPad with retina display could browse the web over wi-fi for 13 and a half hours before running out of power, while the smaller iPad Mini managed 13 hours of web browsing.
For a more in-depth run-down of the results read our blog post on the best tablet battery life or for more information on our testing program head over to our how we test tablets page.
The nearest challenger to the Apple tablets was the 7-inch Amazon Kindle Fire HD, which managed slightly less than 10 hours of browsing. Amazon’s other tablet, the Kindle Fire, managed a slightly below average seven and a half hours.

The latest Google tablet, the Nexus 10, was solid rather than spectacular, managing just over 8 hours of browsing, which put it below the Microsoft Surface RT, Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 and Sony Xperia Tablet S.
We are still testing the Nexus 10 and Sony Xperia Tablet S and will be publishing the full results soon, but to find out which of the models performed best check out our Best Buy tablets.
