Saturday is the last chance to take advantage of the government’s Warm Front scheme, which offers grants of up to £3,500 to install energy efficiency measures.
You could get paid to make your home more energy efficient (and save money on your energy bills) through the Warm Front scheme, but you’ll have to apply quickly as it ends tomorrow.
Loft insulation, cavity wall insulation, a new boiler and heating controls or even a new central heating system can all be covered by the Warm Front grant.
If you are eligible, you won’t have to pay anything as long as the work doesn’t cost more than the grant.
Warm Front eligibility
In England, the grant is aimed mainly at people on pension credit, on some income-related benefits, living in poorly-insulated properties or without central heating.
To check whether you are eligible for the grant and to find out how to apply, take a look at our guide to the Warm Front scheme.
Save money on energy efficiency
Other energy grants will still be available after Saturday. These include:
- Warm Home Discount – a £130 one-off payment to help those struggling to pay their energy bills
- Free insulation deals from energy suppliers – see our guide to find out who can get what
- Renewable Heat Premium Payment – available until 31 March 2013, households can apply for grants to install renewable technologies such as solar water heating systems, biomass boilers and heat pumps.
