Losing the line
Many people have told us that losing the line during trimming is a real pain. We've adjusted our testing as a result.
In our trial, we hit the line 20 times against a hard metal edge to record how many times the line breaks and how many times the line is lost. We give two star ratings: one for how well the line feed works and one for how easy it is to rethread the spool.
This year, we put our Best Buy grass trimmers from 2011 through our new line-feed tests. As a result, four of them didn't make the grade and have lost their Best Buy status.
