Dyson vacuum cleaner reviews

We lab test vacuum cleaners to find out how well they clean, including picking up pet hair and dust and how well they retain allergens. We also look at how easy they are to use on different surfaces.

How we test vacuum cleaners

You might be able to see how heavy the vacuum cleaner is in the shop or how many attachments there are, but there is no way of telling how well it really cleans or how easy it is to use. That's where our Which? lab tests come in, helping you find the best and avoid the worst.

  • A bad vacuum cleaner will pick up less than half of the dirt in the carpet, where as a Best Buy will collect more than twice as much.
  • Best Buys are also quieter - the difference between a a good and a bad one can be astonishing, between 70 and 90 decibels.

Take a look at our video on what makes a Best Buy vacuum cleaner to really see the difference.
