Mountain Buggy Cosmopolitan
Mountain Buggy is best known for its rugged all-terrain pushchairs, whose big seats and big wheels can make molehills out of rugged terrain. But the Cosmopolitan signals a new venture for the brand into smaller pushchairs that are more suited to an urban environment.
As well as being able to convert the seat into a pram body, you can also turn it to face forwards or backwards, so parents can keep a close eye on their younger baby. A large shopping basket and sophisticated denim fabric complete the urban styling.
We took the pushchair out – running it over cobbles, pavement and grass, folding it, converting it, reversing the seat and adjusting the back and foot rest – to see whether it can take the city in its stride.
The £499 Cosmopolitan comes in red, turquoise or cream options. Optional extras include a storm cover, footmuff, sun cover, parasol and car seat adaptors for Phil & Teds, Maxi Cosi, Graco and Mountain Buggy car seats.

We’ve tested hundreds of pushchairs in our lab, spending over £70,000 each year on testing a range of different styles.
Our tests are based on what matters to you most, so you can avoid buying a pushchair that makes your life as a parent more, rather than less, stressful.
In our lab we look at safety and durability, including how well a pushchair is made, its strength and stability and the quality of its locking mechanisms and brakes.
Along with our experts, our parent panel rate each pushchair for its ease of use, looking at folding and pushing, attaching and removing accessories, cleaning and loading the pushchair into a car boot.
