Want to make tasty chips easily at home or just looking for an early Christmas gift? Then this Tefal Actifry, which is currently reduced from £169.99 to £99.99 at Argos, could be for you.
As well as being £70 cheaper than the original price, Tefal claims that the chips made in this fryer are healthier. The chips contain only 3% fat, as opposed to the 4.2% in oven chips and 12.4% in those from the chip shop.
However, how easily will you really be able to cook up tasty chips in an instant? And will this fryer be easy to clean, or leak oil, as we have found some do?

How we test fryers
Online or in store, there is no way of knowing whether the fryer you’re buying will cook mouth-watering chips, or how easy it will be to use. That’s where our rigorous lab tests come in.
We cook chips and frozen scampi in each fryer to test how long it takes to heat up the oil to 170°C and 190°C, how well it keeps at that temperature while cooking and how quickly it cooks the food.
We then assess how evenly the food is cooked, plus the overall quality and appeal.
We also look at how easy the fryers are to use and clean, whether they leak oil, and how quickly they cool down.
