New Dyson Cinetic vacuum cleaner revealed

No need to replace or clean filter, Dyson says

The Dyson Cinetic was developed through six years of research

Dyson has launched its new Cinetic cylinder vacuum cleaner, which it claims will keep its suction power for at least 10 years and has filters that you won’t have to clean or replace.

Which? floorcare expert Matthew Knight says: ‘This is an exciting launch from Dyson. Filters on bagless vacs can be messy to clean, so taking away the need to clean or replace the filters seems to offer a solution. We were excited to get our hands on the Dyson Cinetic and examine it more closely.’

The Dyson Cinetic goes on sale today from Dyson.co.uk and major retailers from £419 to £469, depending on how many extra accessories are included.

We’ve taken the Dyson Cinetic home and put it through its paces. Take a look at our verdict in our first look review.

Dyson says its new cyclones give a more efficient clean

What’s new about the Dyson Cinetic?

Dyson has devoted £7.5m and six years to developing the new cyclone technology on this vacuum cleaner.

It says that the smallest cyclones it has developed to date help to guide air more efficiently so that only air is pushed through the filters. This prevents the filters getting clogged with dirt and therefore they won’t need cleaning.

Dyson inventor and founder, Sir James Dyson said: ‘Getting rid of bags solved the frustration of my vacuum losing suction. But washing filters – or worse, buying them – is still a nuisance. Dyson Cinetic cyclones are so efficient that everything gets thrust into the bin, and you can forget about fussy filters.’

Dysons for pet owners

There are three versions of the Dyson Cinetic available, with different accessories added. The Dyson Cinetic Multi Floor is the cheapest at £419.

Dyson’s trademark ball comes with this new vac, which should help to make it easier to pull the machine around tight corners and along your floors.

Its floorhead has carbon-fibre filaments designed to suck up fine dust from hard floors and stiff nylon bristles to tackle dirty carpets. It also comes with a trigger emptying bin, which should help keep mess to a minimum.
