Argos recalls Sleep Secret mattressesFail to comply with fire safety regulations
04 February 2014
Argos has recalled some Sleep Secret mattresses because they fail to comply with fire regulations.
The mattresses pose a greater risk in a fire than products that fully meet regulations. However, Argos said that in everyday use the mattresses pose a low risk, as long as sensible fire precautions are taken.
To find a reliable mattress that performs well in our rigorous lab tests, take a look at our mattress reviews.
What should Sleep Secret mattress owners do?
To find out if your mattress is affected check the batch code. The batch code is four digits long and can be found on the care label on the underneath of the mattress - at the top of the mattress, in the centre. There are 37 batches affected including batch numbers starting 65, 66, 67, 68, 69, 70, and 71.
If you think you own a recalled mattress call Argos customer services on 0845 640 0800 for more information.
Argos says that if your mattress has to be recalled, you can continue to use it while it arranges for it to be replaced. It advises that you are careful not to place candles, lit cigarettes or naked flames close to the mattress.
