Our new tool helps you pick the right products for your needs and avoid the ones that aren't

A new Which? online tool helps you make the right independent living product choices, from mobility scooters to hearing aids.

It can be hard to decide from the huge range of products available to help you or your relative stay independent at home.

You've told us that you mainly get advice on key products such as riser recliner chairs from the internet, so it's not always easy to make sure you're getting what's right for you.

Now Which? has developed a tool to help you get the best advice and spend your money wisely on products we've tested in lab conditions, such as riser recliner chairs and mobility scooters, plus many others.

We've got advice on equipment to help you get around indoors and outdoors safely, stay comfortable and safe at home and find out what to do if you're just not sure what you need.

Which? health expert Joanna Pearl said: 'As we developed our testing of independent living products, we knew that we needed to help people make some difficult choices.

For example, buying a mobility scooter costs hundreds of pounds and you need to make sure it's going to be right for you, or decide whether you need specialist advice before you buy. That's where our new tool can help.'
