The Vauxhall Zafira MPV is big on space, but small on price – especially with savings of up to £8,935. Available as the regular Zafira and even more spacious Zafira Tourer, you’ll struggle to find more car for the money.
The Vauxhall Zafira and Zafira Tourer aren’t the best people carriers you can buy. However, with discounts of up to 45%, they are definitely two of the best value models available. Both have seven seats and plenty of luggage space if you fold the rearmost seats down.
The Zafira Tourer costs more, but is a newer car with a more upmarket feel. Both models drive well and offer a smooth ride for passengers. With discounted prices starting from just over £10,000, you can pick up a Zafira for little more than the price of a typical supermini.
Save a huge 45% on new seven-seat Vauxhall Zafira
Discounts approaching 50% are almost unheard of on new cars, but you can pick up a brand new Vauxhall Zafira people carrier for just £10,995 – that’s a saving of £8,865. This Zafira has a petrol engine and returns an unimpressive fuel economy of 39.2mpg (claimed). But you can buy an awful lot of fuel with the money you save.
This model comes with seven seats, air conditioning, a trip computer and stability control to keep the car pointing in the right direction on slippery roads,. With a 1.8-litre engine under the bonnet, it accelerates to 62mph in a reasonable 10.8 seconds.
£8,935 discount on Vauxhall Zafira Tourer diesel
If you have a little more to spend, you can pick up the newer and more spacious Vauxhall Zafira Tourer. With a discount of £8,935, the diesel Zafira Tourer 2.0 CDTi SRi is available online for just £16,495. In 2.0-litre diesel form this car returns 55.4mpg (claimed), but can still sprint to 62mph in 10.6 seconds.
The Zafira Tourer has a longer list of standard equipment than its smaller brother. This model comes with air conditioning, a digital radio, cruise control, front and rear parking sensors and a trip computer.
Save £8,130 on cheap-to-run Vauxhall Zafira diesel
For those who drive long distances and want the cheapest model to run, the Zafira 1.7 CDTi (110) Exclusiv could be a good option. Claimed fuel economy of 55.4mpg means visits to the petrol station should be rare, although the car may feel a little sluggish if you load it up with passengers. The 0-62mph takes a steady 12.5 seconds.
Standard equipment matches the Zafira 1.8 Exclusiv above and a 38% saving on the list price means you could drive away for £12,995.
