Which Mamas & Papas Sola pushchair is best? Watch our video for the definitive verdict
29 July 2014
Which? has tested all three of the new Mamas & Papas Sola pushchairs - the Sola 2, Sola City and Sola MTX - so we can give you our definitive verdict on which one you should buy.
With three Mamas and Papas Sola pushchairs now on offer, it's hard to know which one is best and really will suit your family.
Which? is here to help. We've put all three pushchairs through our rigorous lab tests and can reveal that these three pushchairs are definitely not equal - while two scored well in our tests, one scored far less and some of our parent panel said they wouldn't buy it.
Watch our taster video below to see each of the pushchairs in action, or visit our full reviews for the Mamas & Papas Sola 2, Mamas & Papas City and Mamas & Papas MTX to see the full length video. In the full video we not only talk you thorough what lifestyle each pushchair is designed for, but also reveal exactly how well each pushchair did in each of our key tests.

Video review: Mamas & Papas pushchairs
Sola 2, Sola City or Sola MTX?
All three pushchairs are travel systems, which means they can be used with a carrycot or car seat.
The pushchair seats on the Sola 2 and Sola MTX are suitable from birth, but the seat on the Sola City is not. To use the Sola City from birth, you'll need to buy an additional carrycot, which will increase the cost of the pushchair to £414, while the Sola 2 is £379 and the MTX is £339.
Each pushchair is designed for a different lifestyle: the Sola MXT is for outdoors-y types, the Sola City is for those living in the city, and the Sola 2 is an everyday pushchair that should cope OK on most surfaces.
Our full Mamas & Papas video will help you pick which pushchair would suit best your lifestyle, as will our pushchair chooser tool.
How Which? tests pushchairs
We’ve tested hundreds of pushchairs over the years, spending nearly £90,000 each year on a range of tests, designed to help you buy the right pushchair for you and make your life as a parent a little easier.
In our labs we look at the strength, durability and safety of each pushchair - assessing every part from the wheels to the harness - as well as pushing, pulling, folding, reclining, cleaning and adjusting each one.
Our parent panel then uses each pushchair with their children and rates each pram on how easy it is to push and use on bumpy ground, stairs and escalators.
