We’ve just published 16 new TV reviews online, with 8 models having the latest 4K ultra HD picture quality. This includes our highest scoring TV so far in 2014, but also one 4K set that failed to impress us.
Alongside 4K ultra HD models from Samsung, Sony, LG, Panasonic and Philips, we also have newly-tested HD TVs, including sets from all the big brands.

Cheaper 4K televisions than ever
We’ve now tested almost 100 TVs in 2014 and it’s been a real mixed bag in terms of results – we’ve had Best Buy TVs scoring higher than ever before, but also Don’t Buy TVs scoring lower than we’ve seen before.
Our latest published batch marks the first time we’ve had 4K ultra HD TVs in the lab for a full test. Although these televisions can cost several thousands of pounds, we’ve found Best Buy 4K TVs that you don’t need a lottery win to afford.
New 4K ultra HD TVs tested
We ran picture quality tests on 4K sets in 2013 and weren’t very impressed, but on the whole things have improved in 2014.
To test 4K ultra HD picture quality, we set up a completely new test using our own clips shot at 4K ultra HD resolution. We played the material on the TVs simultaneously and then compared them side-by-side to give our expert verdict.
These TVs also went through all our usual tests, giving you an overall test score you can rely on, and a standalone 4K star rating to compare the TVs for yourself. To find the right 4K ultra HD TV for you, head to our television reviews.
