Need a specific type of fridge or freezer? We’ve just tested three integrated models, two affordable freestanding freezers and a compact chest freezer.
In our final refrigeration tests of 2014 we’ve reviewed six of the latest fridges and freezers available in the shops.
In the line-up you’ll see a cheap freestanding freezer costing £140, plus a slimline chest freezer that’s 55cm wide – ideal if you’re short on space but want to bulk-store frozen food.
Integrated fridges and freezers
Buying an integrated fridge or freezer can be tricky, as there are fewer models to choose between and they tend to be pricier than their freestanding equivalents.
Prices start at £200 for under-counter models, and can range up to £500 plus for premium brands. Built-in freezers tend to be a little more expensive than fridges, but we have tested some affordable ones from Beko that you can see by going to our Beko freezer reviews.
Integrated under-counter models are typically of a standard size so they fit into a standard kitchen unit. On the other hand, tall fridges vary in height from around 120-177cm, so it’s important to check dimensions carefully before you buy.
