Nespresso and KitchenAid launch coffee makerClaims to make a great coffee in just 25 seconds
14 January 2015
KitchenAid and Nespresso have joined forces to create a coffee machine that promises a perfect cup of coffee in just 25 seconds.
This is the first time that the two companies have collaborated and the result is a stylish machine that comes with an Aeroccino frother (£349) or without (£309) and will appeal to those who are coffee fans and devotees of KitchenAid appliances.
To find out if it's as good as it claims we will be trying out this coffee machine as soon as it becomes available so check back for our first impressions. In the meantime we have reviewed the KitchenAid Artisan 5KES2102, so visit our coffee machine reviews to see how it compares to other popular brands such as Delonghi, Krups and Magimix.
Which? verdict on the Nespresso and KitchenAid machine
Although we know from our experience of KitchenAid appliances they look great, if all you're concerned about is the ability to make a good cup of coffee you could go for a much cheaper model. This is especially as the coffee-making part of the machine is pretty much identical to other Nespresso ones or you could choose another of our Best Buy coffee machines that start from £42.00.
What you're paying for is the premium finish on the machine which is fully metal, the design element and a look that matches the other KitchenAid appliances in your home.
It also has a larger water tank and used capsule capacity (when the capsule is used up it falls into a little bin inside the machine), as well as the ability to make different sized drinks from a short ristretto to a longer lungo. This is comparable to the Nespresso Maestria (£349.99) and unlike cheaper Nespresso machines like the Nespresso U and Inissia.
When is this coffee machine available?
This machine has aluminum and zinc die-cast elements and will be available in a range of colours including Onyx black, Empire red and Almond Cream, from the 23rd January in John Lewis.
