KitchenAid Artisan Magnetic Drive Blender

The KitchenAid Artisan Magnetic Drive blender has a unique slide-in design and automatic settings

KitchenAid is making a bid for the premium end of the blender market with the launch of its KitchenAid Artisan Magnetic Drive Blender.

At £549, the price of the new KitchenAid pits it squarely up against other premium blender models.

Fans of KitchenAid won't be disappointed with the Artisan Magnetic Drive blender's sleek good looks and solid feel; exactly what customers have come to expect from this iconic kitchen brand.

But as well as high style, this new KitchenAid blender claims to be all about high power and ease of use.

UPDATE 25/03/15: One of our researchers has now given the blender a try. See what she thought in our KitchenAid Artisan Magnetic Drive Blender first look review.

New dawn for blenders

KitchenAid claims the Artisan Magnetic Drive reinvents the blender. And its easy, front-load, slide-in design (all thanks to those magnets in the name) is a world away from the days of struggling to lock your blender jug into place.

Rather than having to judge how long you need to hit that on switch for, there are programme buttons: one for juice, one for soups and sauces, another for milkshakes and a fourth for icy drinks and smoothies. The idea being that you simply add your ingredients, slide in the jug, select a programme and walk away. The KitchenAid will judge how long your drink needs and switch off when it's ready, putting an end to the tradition of hovering over your blender as you pulse.

Incidentally, this new KitchenAid shares its claims of being a blender that can also juice with the popular Nutribullet bullet blender. We'll be finding out just how good that juicing function is when we try it out.

KitchenAid colourways

The KitchenAid Artisan Magnetic Drive Blender is available in six colours initially: Candy Apple, Frosted Pearl, Onyx Black, Almond Cream, Medallion Silver and the iconic Empire Red.

It will be available from the beginning of May 2015 exclusively at John Lewis.
