Nest upgrades its smart home appliancesRevamped: Nest thermostat and Protect smoke alarm
18 June 2015
Smart home brand Nest has updated its range including its smoke alarm, thermostat and introduced a new camera that allows people to keep an eye on their home from anywhere.
The upgraded Protect smoke alarm is the second-generation version of this hi-tech smoke alarm and features a new smaller design and enhanced capability – which it claims enables it to detect both fast and slow-burning fires.
Another enhancement is that you can control the alarm from your mobile phone or tablet – handy, if the alarm is inadvertently triggered and you want to switch it off.
But the new Nest Protect doesn’t come cheap – and buying it will set you back £89*. If you want to protect your home for less, check out our Best Buy smoke alarms.
